For therapists and clinicians

Session notes that never reach a server.

Notes are the part of the work that happens after the work, which is why they stack up. Speaking them is roughly 4 times faster than typing them, but speaking them into a cloud service means the details of someone’s worst month travel to a company neither of you has met. Flit does the whole job on your machine: the model, the formatting, and the dictionary of names it spells correctly.

No integration, no plugin, no waiting for support. Flit types wherever your cursor already is.

How it works

Three steps, and none of them is “open the app”.

  1. 1 fn

    Put your cursor anywhere

Wherever you would normally type: your notes app, your practice software, a referral letter. Flit has no window of its own to switch to.

  2. 2

    Hold the key and talk

Speak normally, fillers and all. A small bar shows the words arriving as you say them, so you can see it working.

  3. 3

    Let go. It is written

Finished text appears at your cursor about 0.7 seconds later, punctuated and formatted. No copying, no cleanup, no second window.

Prefer not to hold a key? Tap once to lock it on, or arm hands-free mode and Flit starts when you speak. Escape cancels any dictation.

Sound familiar?

Notes pile up until the end of the day, then get written from memory.

Cloud dictation sends client detail to a vendor you did not vet.

Typing during a session is the fastest way to stop being present.

Clinical dictation is priced per seat and assumes a hospital behind you.

What it looks like

This is what you said. This is what Flit wrote.

You said

“client reported um sleep improved to about 6 hours nightly since the last session affect brighter”

Flit wrote · Notes

Client reported sleep improved to about 6 hours nightly since the last session. Affect brighter.

Clinical shorthand stays shorthand: "affect brighter" is not expanded into a sentence. Your observation, cleaned up, not summarized.

What you get

It formats, it does not summarize

Flit fixes capitals, punctuation and spoken numbers. It does not condense your note, rewrite your phrasing, or decide what mattered. What you said is what appears, which is the only acceptable behavior in a clinical record.

Nothing to send, nothing to sign for

There is no upload step, no account, and no analytics. The transcription happens on your Mac and the text goes to your cursor. Point a network monitor at it during a dictation and you will see nothing move.

Names and terms, spelled your way

Add client names, medication names and the assessment abbreviations you use to your personal dictionary. They come out right the first time, and the dictionary never leaves the machine either.

Works in whatever your practice runs on

Flit types into the focused field of any app, so it works in your practice management software, a browser tab, Notes or a letter template. There is nothing to integrate.

Do not take our word for it

Dictate a note with the machine offline. It works, because nothing was ever going to be sent. That is a claim you can disprove in a minute, which is more than a badge on a marketing page offers.

Questions

Is Flit HIPAA or GDPR compliant?

Compliance is a property of your practice, not of a text field, so the honest answer is what the software does. Flit makes no network request to dictate: no audio, no text and no client information is transmitted to us or anyone else, because there is no third party in the path to receive it. Whether that satisfies your obligations is a question for your own compliance advice. We do not certify Flit against any standard and would not ask you to take a marketing page as assurance.

Can it transcribe a recorded session?

No. Flit is live dictation only. You hold a key, speak, and text appears where your cursor is. It does not accept audio files or record anything, which also means there is no recording of a session sitting on your disk.

Will it change my clinical wording?

No. Formatting is punctuation, capitalization, spoken numbers and times, and the standard casing of work terms like B2B and API. Filler words like “um” are removed, and a guard discards any model output that loses a word you said. Your terminology, your phrasing and your ordering are left exactly as spoken.
