Voice typing
Voice typing is another name for dictation: entering text into an application by speaking instead of using the keyboard. The term was popularized by the Voice Typing feature in Google Docs.
In practice, "voice typing" and "dictation" describe the same activity. Search usage differs slightly: voice typing tends to be used for typing replacement in everyday apps, while dictation is the older word inherited from the era of dictating to a person or a recorder.
The practical questions are identical either way: where does the audio go, how finished is the text, and how many of your applications does it work in.
